It was in 1920 when the President of the United States of Venezuela, General Juan Vicente Gmez, was established by decree of the School of Military Aviation, and in the same year the first 3 Quadron G aircraft came to the South American nation from France. -3, along with a mission of aerial instructors and technicians from the Gala Nation.
The central act in which the commemoration of the first century of Bolivarian military aviation took place took place on the flight ramp of the Bolivarian Aviation Military Academy and was attended by the President of the Republic, the ministers of the office. The military high command, governors of the states of Aragua and Carabobo, as well as special guests, began with an air passage symbolizing the institution’s 100th anniversary, carried out with Hongdu K-8W, Sukhoi Su-30MK2 and Lockheed Martin F-16A / B Block 15 .
As part of the centennial events, the Truncado Monolith was unveiled by the first National President along with the High Command, which has been part of the institution’s representative weapons systems since its inception, such as the F-16 Fighting Falcon, F-5 Freedom Fighter, F- 86 North American and Dassault Mirage, including from the monument complex to the bicentenary of the signing of the Armistice and War Regulation Treaty (1820) and the centenary of Bolivarian military aviation (1920).
The aerial act began with the parade of helicopters in a cobra formation, with helicopters AS 532 of Special Operations Areo Group No. 10 and Enstrom 480B of Areo Training Group No. 19, carrying the national flag and the centenary banner of La Aviacin. Bolivarian military of Venezuela, followed by the first aircraft of national production, the Simn Bolvar 100 (SIBO 100), manufactured by Empresa Aeronutica Nacional SA (Eansa).
Next, the Diamond Aircraft DA-42 Twin Star and the Diamond Aircraft DA-40 Diamond Star from Air Training Group No. 18, Aermacchi SF.260B and Embraer EMB-312V Tucano from Air Training Group N. 14, Cessna 208B Grand Caravan and Dornier Do-228NG of Air Group No. 9, Lockheed C-130H Hercules of Air Group No. 6, Embraer 190 of Conviasa, Hongdu K-8W Karakoram of Air Group N Hunting 12 and Special Operations Air Group No. 15, Lockheed Martin F-16A / B Block 15 of Fighter Air Group No. 16 and Sukhoi Su-30MK2 of Fighter Air Group No. 11 and Fighter Air Group No. 13.
During the centenary, President Nicols Maduro approved the promotion of Major General Pedro Alberto Juliac Lartguez to Colonel General, who became the first officer in the history of the air component to achieve such high distinction within the military ranks. (Douglas Bravo Colmenares)
