TAP offers its passengers from Portugal Covid-19 insurance

TAP announced last Thursday, October 8th, that it is now offering additional protection for its passengers’ travel. The free insurance helps manage the costs and risks associated with Covid-19 infection, increases safety and ensures greater safety when traveling to any of the destinations where the company operates.

If the TAP passenger is diagnosed with Covid-19 during the trip, this new insurance covers hospital stays of up to 500 euros (3,270 reais at the current exchange rate) as well as the reimbursement of room and board in the same amount, among other things in connection with symptoms / Diagnosis of the new coronavirus when the quarantine is imposed on medical order and the mandatory travel extension is required due to the illness.

In addition to the hospital fee, the insurance also covers entry to the intensive care unit during the trip, if this is necessary due to the new coronavirus, with a fixed maximum amount of 1000 euros.

Customers receive insurance coverage in the Portuguese territory immediately after purchasing round-trip tickets at Classic, Plus Executive and Top Executive tariffs. And it is entitled, among other things, for trips with up to nine passengers per booking with a maximum duration of 30 days and a start of up to 90 days from the date of purchase of the flights.
