National Defense of Mexico (SEDENA) Secretary General Luis Cresencio Sandoval Gonzlez announced that he tested positive for COVID-19 two days before the 108th anniversary of Army Day. In a message released Wednesday afternoon yesterday afternoon, General Sandoval advised that he should continue his duties in isolation from his home. He is the third member of President Andrs Manuel Lpez Obrador’s security cabinet to contract the coronavirus.
Before contracting the disease, Minister of Security and Civil Protection (SSPC) Rosa Icela Rodríguez and Secretary of the Navy Navy of Mexico (SEMAR) Admiral Jos Rafael Ojeda Durn were overcome by the coronavirus and returned to their jobs back. Only the commander of the National Guard (GN), General Luis Rodríguez Bucio, remains to be infected.
On October 18, 2019, it was known that the Secretary of the Navy, Admiral Jos Rafael Ojeda Durn, had tested positive for COVID-19. For the past few days, General Sandoval has been living with President López Obrador and his press and image advisors, with the Secretary of the Navy, Admiral Rafael Ojeda, with the Security Minister Rosa Icela Rodríguez, with the Armed Forces Commander. General Gerardo Vega Rivera as well as the President of the Supreme Court of the Nation (SCJN), Arturo Saldvar, and the Governors of Tlaxcala, Omar Fayad, State of Mexico, Alfredo del Mazo and de Quertaro Francisco Domnguez, and with General Gustavo Vallejo Surez, the Director of Works of Felipe ngeles International Airport (AIFA).
In April 2020, an official 27-page document entitled “Situation of Cases of Military Personnel and Their Beneficiaries” informed President López Obrador and the entire cabinet of the first figures on the occurrence of the pandemic among active and retired troops and their relatives.
The report stated on the last two pages of statistical data that the number of soldiers in the asset infected with confirmed coronavirus was 14 items, while the number of people recovered in the asset was 3 cases and the number of suspects in the asset was 133 scam .

According to the report, there were 56,815 people in attendance between July 2019 and August 2020, including civilians, active military personnel and retirees, as well as their heirs.
