Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding or MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Aviatic MRO UAB for strategic cooperation in building an aircraft maintenance center at Siauliai Airport in Lithuania. The new facility will provide such services, including overhaul, conversion of passenger transport configurations to Boeing 737NG freighters, and training, certification and licensing of personnel. The center is operated by Aviatic, which also enables interaction with the Lithuanian Aviation Authority, including planning and infrastructure development. The facility, which will be known as the Aviatic MRO, will start operating in an innovative hangar in 2022, where all MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) tasks for maintenance, repairs and major overhauls can be performed immediately after opening.
