We are used to receiving information about the records of large and heavy loads, which the Antonov AN-225 Mriya considers to be the largest aircraft in the world in several ways, including the large capacity of its fuselage, both in terms of load capacity and concentrated Weight.

But among the many landmarks that the six-engine giant has in the Guinness World Record, the Book of Records, is an unusual accomplishment that has absolutely nothing to do with cargo.

According to Antonov, in September 2012 the AN-225 was the protagonist of the art exhibition on board an aircraft at the highest altitude in history. The feat occurred at 33,300 feet above sea level, or approximately 10,150 meters.

The record was registered by Antonov Airlines together with the main organizer of the exhibition, Kyiv Producer Center Boyko. 500 works of art were created by 120 artists.

The flight was performed during the AVIASVIT XXI Air Show in Kiev, Ukraine, in the presence of a Guinness World Record Official. We just need to know why anyone would come up with the idea of setting a record in height for an art exhibition. It’s every crazy person you see!
