Last Sunday, the first commercial air cargo flight that is operated 100% with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF or Sustainable Aviation Fuel, essentially sustainable synthetic kerosene) took off. This CO2-neutral operation was carried out between Frankfurt and Shanghai on board a Boeing 777F and transported by Siemens Healthineers AG, among others. The flight is the result of the collaboration between DB Schenker and Lufthansa Cargo, both of whom agreed last November to share environmental issues to promote joint solutions, including using alternative fuels to fossils to transport air cargo. .
