On April 6, the Council of Ministers approved the conclusion of a framework agreement to carry out the beaching of Spanish Navy ships in 2021 and 2022, with the option of two more for an estimated value of 90 million euros.
As indicated by the Council of Ministers mentioned above, naval ships must be stranded throughout their lifespan in order to undergo regular surveys, engineering, maintenance and necessary repairs. These strandings are planned as part of the general maintenance program, but may also occur for random reasons if necessary.
